Michele’s Story

A few years ago, after my daughter was born, I noticed an enormous change in how I was feeling. My daughter was one year old at the time that this all started, and I do not think I will ever forget it. We were also trying to move into our new home and even though, emotionally, I was eager to be in our new home, physically, I could not deal with the excitement. In trying to walk from the bedroom to the kitchen, I would have to sit on the couch to rest in between. I remember thinking that I must have been coming down with the flu. Well, needless to say, that was only the beginning.

A couple of weeks went by and I made the decision that I needed to go to the doctor. The thought of letting even another day go by not being able to play with my daughter just destroyed me. The doctor and I talked, and she issued blood work to be done. While at the office, she decided to go ahead and start me on an antidepressant until we got the results back. The blood work revealed that I had an overwhelming condition with hypothyroidism. She decided to keep me on the antidepressant and also started me on synthetics for my thyroid condition. Two years passed and I was constantly dealing with different doctors and different opinions about my thyroid problem. They all had one thing in common and that was thinking that I needed to stay on my antidepressant. They would successfully mask my problem for a couple of months, but I just could never get past the ugly thought of being on the antidepressant. Not to mention that I still never felt truly well overall.

My husband I and decided that we wanted to have another child, so I took myself off of the antidepressant and stayed in constant touch with the doctor concerning my thyroid levels. We soon had a beautiful baby boy, and it was not long after his birth that my life changed dramatically. One day, my husband was listening to talk radio on his way home from work, and he heard a commercial for Hotze Health and Wellness Center. He listened to many ladies tell their stories and decided that this may be the answer I had needed all these years. I was reluctant at first, because I had been to so many doctors through the years and they all seemed to say the same thing. I made the appointment anyway. My mom came in from out of town to go with me and give me support. I was looking and feeling terrible at the time. I was crying and felt as if I would never get to truly enjoy my children. I seemed to have already missed out on so much, but I had to give it one more chance.

I remember the specifics, the kindness of everyone there. I remember the blood work, the yummy snack afterwards, the bone density test, and the sincerity of the doctor and the nurses. I cried right to the doctor and told him that I have had enough. I needed major help with my health. He also did an allergy test, but the main thing I truly remember was the attention. He sat beside me and we had a heart to heart talk about me and my health. After the blood work results came in, the doctor knew what needed to be done. I committed to the no yeast diet, and after a while he put me on the hormone replacement therapy that I needed, as well. He knew that once he got my thyroid under control, with natural products, and once I cleansed myself of excess yeast that he would choose the correct path to take for that hormone therapy. It was a process that I knew I needed to go through. I was also put on vitamins and supplements that my body was lacking. After a few months of cleansing and changing of medicines, I became a totally different person.

One day, I was sitting on the couch, the kids were napping, and I thought about all that I had done with them already and it was just 1:00pm. We had our breakfast, played outside, came in and played hide-n-seek, and had our lunch. They were napping, but instead of needing to sleep with them I was able to start the laundry. I remember tearing up and thinking, “Thank God”. I finally felt like I was being a good mommy. I was proud of myself instead of feeling ashamed. My kids wanted to be with me instead of always asking when daddy was coming home. It was the most amazing feeling. Not only was I able to be a better mom, but I was also able to be a better wife. My husband and I were scheduling date nights instead of me needing to go to bed after he got home. I started to be more interested in my physical appearance because I felt more alive inside. Our home came alive with me cleaning, organizing, and cooking.   My family and friends started noticing a huge change and they would just cry with me sometimes. I knew that I finally had the treatment I needed and the respect that I was craving. Hotze Health and Wellness has changed my life dramatically. Knowing that I am on the right level of medication is terrific, but knowing that I am putting back natural replacements that my body was lacking thrills me more than anything.

I am at peace with my life, I am at peace with how I am raising my kids, and I am at peace with my marriage. I know now that I am going to be fine.
