Janet’s Story – Fatigue, Irregular Menstrual Cycles
My name is Janet; I am forty-seven years of age and reside in Beaumont, Texas. In the spring of 2000, multiple tragedies occurred in my life. My husband and I divorced, and five weeks later my father passed away.
My life became unmanageable not only with my emotions, but also with my physical endurance. I felt like I was an 80 year old woman and had no will to continue everyday life. I went to work and struggled through the pressure of everyday living as well as dealing with unidentifiable stress. As 2001 approached, I met an old friend, and that is where everything changes. He works for UPS, and while delivering one day, he came across Texas Monthly magazine in the dentist’s office on his route where he read an article about Hotze Health and Wellness Center in Katy, Texas. He realized the symptoms I was having were identical to the ad in the magazine. Before I called Hotze, I went to my OB/GYN, who sent me on my way with anti-depressants. I was appalled at the continued dismissal of my problems. At this point in my life things were out of my hands, I decided calling Hotze couldn’t be the worst thing to do. You get to a point where you feel like all doctors want is your money, they don’t care about you.
My first appointment was in August of 2003. Not knowing what to expect (just another patient) I was treated like a Queen! Dr. Sheridan sat down with me after my lab work and physical to listen to everything else going on that I needed him to address. We discussed thyroid treatment and bio-identical hormones. After the first week of the initial appointment my boyfriend that was only a friend in 2001, noticed the difference. I had had migraines, mood swings, weight gain, hot flashes, night sweats, cravings, brain fog, and breast tenderness; basically falling apart for years.
It is now February of 2006 and I continue to be on the bio-identical hormones. Over the past 3 years I have gone from feeling 80 to 21. I feel better now than I did when I was 20. I got my life back. I am now married to my friend/boyfriend/prince charming. If he hadn’t picked up the magazine that day on his route, I might not have ever known life could be this great; I would still be struggling everyday. My ex OB/GYN would still be pill pushing. I call it a short solution to a long term problem. It is amazing how well you cope with life’s unexpected turns when your hormones are in sync.
Hotze is the “fountain of youth” in my opinion. From the front door to the back, the Hotze team became my friends and family. The pharmacy and the vitamin division cater to my every need. I am on a regimen of natural products that are good for my body versus synthetics with unknown side effects. Recently, I went to my family doctor. This was the first time in a long time, so I had to fill out new paperwork. They wanted to know my daily medication and other family history. When the doctor saw my blood work she was very impressed. Most women my age are not in as good of shape with cholesterol, thyroid and their weight as I am right now. Prolonged use and consistency with my regimen has caused my overall health to be as perfect as can be.
I no longer have irregular menstrual cycles, low thyroid, migraines, elevated cholesterol, mild fatigue or night sweats. I recently became a grandmother for the first time to Jace Daniel. Less than 5 years ago I did not feel like leaving the house for groceries much less having the energy to enjoy that sweet and innocent baby. I now find myself not being able to sit still.
