April’s Story – Endometriosis, Hysterectomy
To ask how I got my life back is like asking Jack how he grew a bean stalk. It would seem easy at first glance! You put a bean in the ground. Give it a little water, a little soil, and a little sun. Hopefully within 60 to 90 days a giant bean stalk would grow. So relating the bean stalk to getting my life back, you pick up the phone, call the doctor, get a slip of paper, go to the pharmacy, get the bottle of pills, take them daily, and you get your life back. I did that, but my bean stalk never grew. Jack was luckier in life than I.
That is, until I discovered the Hotze Health and Wellness Center. My story started like most others who have found the magical soil, water and sun of HHWC. I started having problems with my health from the time I was born. Pneumonia, bronchitis, and strep-throat became normal parts of my life. Many times requiring hospitalization. At age 11, I started my menses and began a whole new chapter of health problems. My teachers through grade school and high school knew that every month I would be gone at least 2 days. I struggled with painful periods. Thinking back, I should have taken stock in MIDOL. When I was 19, I had my first laparoscopic surgery to diagnose endometriosis. I would go on to have 3 more of those surgeries, and being put into false menopause to correct this condition, only to be followed by three miscarriages, and a complete hysterectomy at age 24. I thought all of the pain and suffering would be over. Well, I was wrong. Maybe I should have stuck to bean growing!
yeast overgrowth, sinus infections and general exhaustion.”
After many doctors telling me I was just depressed, I started to question my sanity. I am an active person. I am a funeral director, a quilter, a photographer, a Harley rider, a wife and a friend, a daughter, and a sister. I should be able to do this thing called life! God didn’t bless me with children, but he gave me many blessed things. I had all of the symptoms of low thyroid, weight problems, estrogen dominance, yeast overgrowth, sinus infections and general exhaustion. Every day something on my body hurt. I couldn’t remember anything, I couldn’t concentrate, and I couldn’t sleep even though I was exhausted. Not one doctor recognized it and I began to question the legitimacy of these ailments. I questioned whether or not I could continue my existence. I felt like I was drowning.
I discovered HHWC in a Texas Monthly Magazine. I called them and the rest is bliss. They were kind, caring and still continue that same attitude today. I was put on estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, Cortisol, thyroid, and a host of vitamins and supplements. I stuck to the program, ate well, lost weight, and got my life back. My life has changed completely and I am now more responsible and am investing in my own life. I owe my life to HHWC and have sent friends there. They too are so grateful! So let’s talk about the bean stalk. If you plant a viable seed in organic soil, water it with natural rain, and let the sun shine….. It’s just what nature intended.
I leave you with this. My family doctor who was treating me for an ulcer I didn’t have just prior to me visiting the HHWC, saw me about 1 month after my visit. When she tried to do the coding for the billing part of my visit she said, “You are glowing, and I don’t have a code for healthy and well.”
