Dr. Steven Hotze Leads His Team to Victory at the 17th Annual Hotze Cup
HOUSTON (March 5, 2013) – founder and CEO, Dr. Steven Hotze, led his team to victory during the 17 annual Hotze Cup golf tournament March 1 – 2 at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Georgia. Hotze’s team, “Team Steve”, defeated his brother, Rick Hotze’s team, “Team Rick”, 20 ½ to 15 ½. The Hotze Cup is played using the Ryder Cup format which includes alternating shot, four ball, and individual matches.
Both teams consisted of 12 players each. Many of the players on Dr. Hotze’s team have obtained and maintained their health and energy level after being on the Hotze Health
& Wellness Center . The oldest player on “Team Steve,” was Luke McConn, who is a 90-year-old World War II hero. McConn served as Captain Emeritus for Dr. Hotze’s team.
“This victory would not have been possible if my teammates had been out of shape and on a host of pharmaceutical drugs like so many other men their age,” said Dr. Hotze. The average age of Dr. Hotze’s team members was 62 years of age.
The Hotze Cup has been held since 1997 and the inaugural tournament was held at the Brae Burn Country Club in Houston. The Hotze brothers formed the tournament as a way to offer challenging competition among successful friends and business leaders. Team Steve has won the Hotze Cup for the past four years.
