Dr. Steven Hotze Discusses the Misdiagnosis of Hypothyroidism on Great Day Houston

HOUSTON (February 26, 2013) – founder and thyroid expert, Dr. Steven Hotze appeared on Great Day Houston on Monday with Wellness Center patient, Amy Owens. Dr. Hotze and Owens discussed her misdiagnosis of hypothyroidism and how she was able to regain her health after she was placed on natural thyroid medication.

Owens came to the Center after visiting several other doctors who told her nothing was wrong even though she experienced symptoms of weight gain, fatigue and cold hands and feet. Other doctors were treating her based on her lab results rather than the symptoms she was experiencing.

Dr. Hotze, whose Center has treated thousands of patients just like Owens, was grateful for the opportunity to share her story with others who may be needlessly suffering with the illness.

“Lab tests for hypothyroidism are as wide as the Grand Canyon and as tall as the Empire State building,” said Dr. Hotze. “Lab tests lie – patients don’t. A physician should not diagnose solely based on lab tests, but instead should evaluate the symptoms the patient presents.”
