Hormones After Childbirth

Having a child not only changes the landscape of your life forever, but for many women childbirth itself can dramatically alter hormonal balance. After a day filled with peanut butter and jelly smudges, scuffed knees, temper tantrums and packed schedules, even the most harried moms agree that the sacrifices they make for their children are more than worth it. Children are a blessing, but childbirth can bring some substantial changes for a woman.  Having a child not only changes the landscape of your life forever, but for many women childbirth itself can dramatically alter hormonal balance.

This hormonal imbalance often results in a gradual increase of seemingly unrelated symptoms such as allergies, extreme fatigue, inability to lose weight and PMS. However, you don’t have to trade your health for motherhood. A little hormonal balance can go a long way and in the long run, it can give you the energy to fill that role to your full potential.

We hear so many women say, “My health was never the same after the birth of my first child. I love my children, but I want my health back!” The good news is that you CAN get your health back by treating the root issue of hormonal imbalance. It may be as simple as balancing estrogen dominance with bioidentical progesterone and supplementing the body’s declining level of thyroid and adrenal hormones. Addressing these issues at the source will not only give you back your health, it will give you back your life! After all, you need all the vitality you can get – it’s tough to keep up with the kiddos!
