Are Joint and Muscle Pain Causing You to Feel Out of Joint?

Does your entire body ache? Do you have widespread joint and muscle pain? Does it hurt just to get out of bed in the morning? Joint and muscle pain is a common symptom of hypothyroidism, but is often characterized and treated separately by mainstream medicine.

Many individuals suffering from hypothyroidism have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. The extreme pain of fibromyalgia is very real, however the diagnosis is in fact a restatement of the symptom. The term ‘fibromyalgia’ in Latin literally means joint and muscle pain. If your physician were to speak to you sans-Latin and in English, the conversation would sound a little like this:

Patient: Doc, I have terrible joint and muscle pain! What is going on? I feel like my body is turning against me.

Doctor: Relax, Patient. I think I know what you’re suffering from. You have [pause for dramatic effect] joint and muscle pain.

Patient: Wow! Really, Doc? Joint and muscle pain? Why didn’t I think of that?

Oh, wait – you did! This is all too often the scenario at the doctor’s office as patients look for answers to their adrenal fatigue. The worst part? Mainstream medicine doesn’t have a cure for ‘fibromyalgia. Their only answer lies in pain management or antidepressants.
