When it comes to good health, restoring and balancing your hormones is critical. All of your hormones work together in harmony like a symphony to bring optimal health to your body. Discover why hormone balancing with bioidentical hormones for optimal health is the best option.

What is a hormone?

A hormone is a chemical messenger produced by your body to regulate certain functions. Hormones travel through the bloodstream to the various organs, cells and tissues to regulate growth and development, metabolism, and much more. Without optimal hormone levels, you will experience negative health symptoms and can increase your risk for diseases, such as heart disease.

Hormones are Critical for Health

The age-related decline in hormones produces many of the diseases associated with midlife, such as heart disease, cancer and cognitive decline. When it comes to solving the problem of hormone imbalance, you have several options:

1) Do nothing and experience the adverse effects of hormonal deficiency;
2) Take chemicals (unnatural prescription drugs with dangerous side effects) that merely attempt to relieve the symptoms resulting from this hormone decline; or
3) Treat the root cause by replacing exactly what is missing.

Hormonal decline is associated with a loss of function as well as fatigue, bone loss, loss of muscle mass, low moods, poor sleep, inflammation, low libido, and thinning of skin, only to name a few. (1)

Hormones are not just for women who are going through the change of life.

First of all, we are born with hormones.  Men and women alike. As mentioned earlier, hormones  are chemical messengers that regulate the functions of your body. Without them, you could not survive.  And when your hormone levels decline, you experience undesirable health symptoms.  Young girls in their teens often experience hormonal imbalance when they reach puberty.  Women experience hormonal changes in midlife, after childbirth, after a hysterectomy or tubal ligation, and while taking birth control pills or counterfeit estrogen hormones.  Men start gaining that tire around the waist, become tired and irritable, and lose their ambition and drive.

How do you know if bioidentical hormones can help you?

It’s really quite simple.  These are some of the most common symptoms that indicate a hormone deficiency and imbalance:

Women:

Men:

  • low libido
  • lack of initiative, assertiveness and drive
  • fatigue
  • decline in sense of well-being and self-confidence
  • depressed, irritable moods
  • increased body fat around the waist
  • decline in sexual ability
  • indecisiveness
  • decreased mental sharpness
  • lessened stamina and endurance
  • loss of muscle mass, strength, and tone
  • sleep apnea
  • gynecomastia (enlarged breasts)

Are you confused about hormone replacement therapy?

If you’re just now learning about hormone replacement therapy, then you may wonder which option is best for you. You’ve no doubt heard about bioidentical hormones.  However, you still may be confused because there has been a lot of hype about hormones in general.  There is a big difference between bioidentical and counterfeit hormones, and this has led to a lot of confusion when it comes to deciding how to treat symptoms of hormonal imbalance.

Bioidentical  vs. Counterfeit Hormones

Bioidentical hormones are identical in molecular structure to the hormones produced by your body. Counterfeit hormones are not.  Take Premarin, for instance, which is prescribed for women in menopause.  Premarin, which is derived from pregnant mare urine, contains numerous horse estrogens that are not found in humans.  Birth control pills contain progestins, which are very different from progesterone.  Provera contains medroxyprogesterone (progestins), again, not progesterone.  Counterfeit hormones have been shown to have numerous negative side effects, including increased risk of blood clots, stroke and heart disease, as well as breast cancer.

The Women’s Health Initiative studied 27,347 postmenopausal women, age 50–79 years. The women were given counterfeit hormones – conjugated equine estrogens (Premarin) with medroxyprogesterone acetate (progestin or Provera) for women with an intact uterus and Premarin alone for women with hysterectomy, or their placebos. The main outcomes were coronary heart disease and invasive breast cancer, respectively, as well as stroke, pulmonary embolism, colorectal cancer, endometrial cancer, hip fracture, and deaths. (2)

You don’t need prescription drugs for the symptoms of hormonal decline.

It is common for conventional doctors to prescribe prescription drugs for each symptom a patient is experiencing, such as sleep medication, anti-anxiety medications, and antidepressants.  Doctors often prescribe birth control pills for women who have irregular periods and painful cramps. All of these drugs have side effects, and many can be very dangerous to your health.

Plus, these drugs do not solve the underlying cause of the problem. When the root cause is a hormone deficiency, why would you take a prescription drug, which is foreign to the human body, when what you really need is to replace the very hormones you are missing?

It’s just common sense.

Think about it.  If your body is missing something, wouldn’t you want to replace it with exactly the same thing that is missing?  If you lose the key to your house, you would replace it with the exactly same key so that it will fit into the lock.  You wouldn’t replace it with a different shaped key, or it wouldn’t work.  So why put something foreign into your body instead of what it really needs?

    Dear Tania,

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are so sorry you don’t feel well after your tubal ligation, but it is common for women to feel the effects of hormone decline and imbalance after they have this procedure. Since the blood supply to the ovaries is compromised, they may not function as well and not produce the hormones you need. They key is to replace what’s missing with bioidentical hormones that are identical to those made by your body.

Here is a good article and video by one of our doctors that may be helpful in explaining this: http://makeshift-worm.flywheelsites.com/2018/05/did-having-your-tubes-tied-ruin-your-life/

Please take our symptom checker to help identify what’s going on: http://makeshift-worm.flywheelsites.com/symptom-checker/
